The premise of the story is interesting, though it had many similarities with AoT. It's not unoriginal, but I think that these two shows would be compared for like forever. I was already gripped on episode one. I've read somewhere that if the first episode doesn't make u want to continue watching, then don't watch. (But of course there is always an exception) Ever since the first episode, there is plenty of action, suspense and some world-building. It's very fast-paced, and before u know it, the episode is over. Dang.
I think that the art is beautiful. And dark at the same time. It captures the mood of the situation perfectly, like terror and hope. The machinery and the scenery is very detailed. Even the kabane's glowing heart looks cool.
The OP and ED are fantastic, and the soundtrack fits with the events.
So far, the MC's past is not yet fully revealed, but he had a traumatic experience before. The characters aren't boring, and one particular character caught my eye; Mumei. She is a very cute girl who reeks of mystery, and she is super strong. I find most of the characters likable enough, for now.
I really enjoyed these two episodes, and that's why i hurriedly wrote this review. Overall, especially to those waiting for AoT season 2 and who generally loves action, good plot (and gore) should watch this :)
Since i'm a big fan of Attack on Titan, it's only natural that i'd love checking out a new series made by the same studio as AoT. Its like Attack on Titan X Zombies, and instead of huge walls the humans in this series seek refuge in an iron fortress.
